Car alarm on Cerbera

Help!! 8-)

Wonder if anyone can help - am totally confused. When ever I go to lock my cerbie with the key fob, all of a sudden the indicator lights flash four times instead of three, the alarm arms, but the doors dont lock i.e. can press the button on the wing mirrors and the doors open.

Any ideas what this could be, and also fix - is there some reset process you can go through to fix?

sorry - one other piece of information - the little green light / button by the handbreak is also flashing its little heart out - if this helps diagnosis???

Do your interior lights stay on as if the door is open? Mine did something similar to this and it was the proximity switch on the passenger door that needed adjusting after someone had slammed it shut too hard.

The interior light was staying on, but that has since stopped - where are the proximity switches located, and how do i get to them?

The proximity switch is located at the bottom of the door towards the back end. It looks like a bolt stuck out and it locates a magnet (I think) when you close the door. You can't see the magnet as it's behind the door sill but there may be a mark in the paintwork where it has previously contacted.
If you search on here for proximity switch I think Kojak put some pictures up describing where it is. You don't need to take off the door trim to adjust it, but if the wire has come off the other side then you will.

So - some notes on this if anyone is interested..

1) if you are fault finding this sort of problem, it appears that the alarm sends a signal out to the door locking control box to tell the solenoid to lock the doors.

If you look on the control box, you should see a pink wire coming in, put a meter across this (and earth on the car) and when you lock the car - you should get a constant 12v being sent to the door control box.

if this happens, alarm is good and start looking at control box and / or reed switches.

In my case, it was purely just an adjustment on the door lock, in order for the door to shut "tighter" into the body, and hence activate the reed switch.
