Air Con Temp Adjustment

The little 'thingy' with a small knob on it that you twist to make the a/c coller, where is it ??
I have looked at previous threads which say the unit is under the dash to the right of the steering wheel, but I cant find it for the life of me! Can anyone else give a few more precise clues so I can find it?

Mine was hidden up the right hand wing in the carpet just between the door trim and the carpet about the same height as the pipe which brings air through the drivers side wing, it is a small brass screw/nut (I can only describe like the brass screw you used to get when you pulled off a radio tuning knob and the brass screw thing is left behind - crap explanation I know).

The common advice is to turn it clockwise to make it go colder - although I have been trying this and doesn't seem to make any difference, see early post stating where is the condensor thingy - apparently its in the Vee but all I can see is an alternator !!

Thanks Ill look tomorroe. The alternator is INSIDE The V, under the fuel rails. The Air con Compressor is right at the top FRONT of the engine, with the pulley at the front, with a wide Rubber 'fsn' belt on it, and pipes coming put of the top of it. You cant miss it! It might look like an alternator but its the Air Con pump !!
