Alarm - sounder and lights not working

Hi all - here's a wierdy: A couple of weeks ago I blew the fuse that runs the fag lighter and radio.

With it blown, when I armed or disarmed the alarm, the sounder blipped. Never did before. When I replaced the fuse, the sounder stopped blipping!

Now, today, the indicators have stopped flashing when the alarm arms or disarms. The doors still unlock and the immobiliser is still working.

I assume there must be an output from the alsrm module to the indicators and sounder - anyone know the colour code or have any other ideas on this phenomenon?

Ah. I went looking behind the helmet hole, nothing disconnected, bit of a jumble though.

BUT! Now the keyfobs don't work at all! Can't lock or disarm the car! The manual thing that goes in the slot in the front still works though.

Checked both fuses, checked all plugs, all look ok.

Something is obviously awry. Anybody?

Can I suggest you edit that post re the position of the Alarm.

Someone breaks into your car.

You come out to find it, and it becomes apparent that the reason you didn't hear the siren going off is becaus the little scrotes got in and unplugged things due to picking up info off websites like this.

It's OK, don't all rush to post at once! I fixed it.

With guidance from Carl Baker of www.tvruk.tv who is a top man. Told me the wiring colours and that someone had evedently replaced the alarm box with the newer one which it transpired entailed making some bad solder joints to adapt the loom to the new type box.

All sorted now.

Oh and by the way, I didn't know that the sounder bipped when being set to warn that a door or sensor is open.
