Hot starting not starter motor!

Hi all. First thing I would like to say is thanx to all the ph posters for all the excellent info they give about some of the interesting probs they have with there cerbi's.
Second thing I'm now the proud owner of my first TVR!!!!! A lovely black cerbi with mulbery int.
Which has it's own interesting probs! Now on to topic. When I bought the car I new about most of the probs you get with cerb ownership! So it was no great surpise when the seller told me it had a hot starting prob. Now I like to get my hands dirty ( one of the reasons I went for a TVR ) so I started to investigate! First thing I noticed was when I had the laptop hooked up (btw thanx headcase for the software) and tried to start the car I heard a click in the boot but the bat volt on screen didn't drop? Being from an electrical background this didn't make sence! If the starter was stuck due to overheating it would still draw a voltge! So I checked the clicking in the boot it was coming from a relay in the IGNITION CONTROL BOX this after two seconds sends a signal to a second relay in the fuse box. After testing, there was power coming out of the I C B but nothing at the rely in the fuse box. Until about nine or ten pushes of the button when both click together! Now the only thing I can come up with is a faulty alarm system, cause the imobiliser will cut power to starter amoungst other things. So to test the theory I spliced a new cable from the I C B to the back of the fuse box and bingo works hot,cold,dry or wet So now i just need to get it check by an alarm guy! Hope this helps some of the starter probs out there
