manifold crack help

can any one tell how easy it is to get a manifold welded does it need to come off the car .or how much a new one would be many thanks

Depends where it is cracked. If it is accessible and the crack is not too bad then it can be welded in situ, however, for bad inaccessible cracks it would be best to remove the manifold and weld it up properly.

i was told when mine cracked at the junction of the pipes and the flange that bolts to the block that it could be welded, if the crack was accessible, but that it will crack again and that you will end up chasing the cracks forever. Andy at APM fitted 2 new manifolds for me. I think they were £285 each plus labour and have been perfect ever since. You can also have them ceramic coated to keep the under bonnet temperature down but I cant remember what that costs.
