Airconditioning result

Asking around other owners and searching this site I was a little unsure about how well the aircon was supposed to work in Cerberas. I did know however that in hot weather it was uncomfortable unless the windows were down and you had some airflow.

This morning I had a local mobile specialist out to look at my car. A very nice guy who pressure tested it, pronounced it sound then regassed it. This needed a call to the factory for weight of gas to use (600g) and oil type (Pag 46). He then checked over and ensured it was working well and fitted new caps that were missing.

I now have very cold air blowing from my aircon and I'm very happy. Cost was £83

I find the blower thing on the steering wheel bit is excellent for freezing my eyes!
Aircon I find a necessity for any motorway driving. It gets real hot otherwise & opening the window is annoying. Any other driving I tend to have the window open for the noise

Had mine done by Southern Aircon Services a couple of months back. They also came out to my house and fixed a leak and then re-gassed the system.
It works really well now, and is more than capable of keeping the interior nice and chilled on the hottest days!
I use it regularly as I reckon this is the best way to ensure it stays working properly. I know what you mean about the vent under the steering column, depending on how it is positioned it really does 'freeze' your eyes or your neck!
Also seem to have less problems with the windows misting up when I use the a/c.

And you Ed, but it cost me £60 for the Leven wiper upgrade as I was comparing mine to yours

Mine used to work for about ten minutes at a time then would switch itself off.I would then have push the button again to switch it back on.Now it doesnt come on at all. Any ideas anyone?

you may be low on gas. It might be that you had just enough to get it going but to low for it to run for any length of time. And now there is not enough to start the system.
If there is no gas in the system the pump will not turn on.

Is the compressor running. Not just the belt going around but make sure the clutch has engaged and the whole of the pulley is going around. You can see from the front.

If there isn't enough gas then the compressor doesn't kick in. It's about £65 for a regass. Mine cost £83 as I had a pressure check, gas, dye etc etc. I didn't think that was bad as he was there for over 2 hours.

No clutch is not kicking in at all now.

I'd get someone to check for leaks - sound like you don't have enough Gas.
My guy used nitrogen to pressure check for leaks and pronounced it sound, but the gas level was low. A top up (600g) and oil (pag46) and all was OK again.
