engine bearing part needed

My 4.2 has a failed bearing. it is the one at the front of the engine supporting the shaft that runs the oil, water and power steering pumps. TVR and TVR Power don't seem to have any and none of the breakers will dismantle and engine for the parts so I am a bit stuck.

Does anyone know whether these bearings are specials for the AJP or if not who makes them. Alternatively does anyone have a spare-long shot I know

Sorry to hear of yet more woes Jes.

Have they removed the old bearing? If so is it stamped up?

Failing that could you 'mic' it up and give spec. Kent bearings is in Ashford and I'll gladly pop along and see if they can help.

any decent bearing supplier will get you one probably very cheap all you need are the dimensions or the original

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that said ball bearing will require the engine to be removed if your car has aircon and a big shiny pulley wheel on the end of the crank. I may have some pictures of it, if I do, I will post them later so you can see that the front timing cover needs to come off. Sorry!

Even if its not a std size getting adaptors made to take different sizees shouldn't be too difficult, at what milage was the engine?

Thanks for the help so far. the engine is already out and in pieces. The milaege since the last rebuild is approx 5000!

Hi Jes , I have a spare pump assembly but as Windor says ,you may have to take the engine out, or you may not . Even if you have an aircon car you might be able to remove the front cover if you detach the nose of the crank first. If you want to try this route contact me , David

Thanks for the help guys. The engine is already out and in bits. All other parts of the engine have been checked and confirmed as in excellent health which at least is a relief. I now even have a perfect clutch with no broken fingers or springs!
