replacement tyres

Need some guidance here chaps. Its the first time that I need new tyres. Its a 4.2 with 16" rims. The fronts are 225/45 Bridgestone SO2 and rears 245/45 Bridgestone SO3. Its the rears that need changing. Looking through some of the threads, the SO3's didnt come out very well. The tyre place I go to have SO3's, Goodyear F1's and toyo's. Out of those which would you say are the best.

I've only experienced S03s and Goodyear F1s, much preferred the Goodyears.

I've only experienced SO3s and the Toyos. Much preferred the Toyos. I suggest you go for either Toyos or Goodyears according to price and availability.

I replaced the Toyos on the rear to F1s. Only observation is that the F1s havent tried to kill me in the wet like the Toyos did a couple of times. (maybe Im just a girl's blouse and drive it even slower in the wet?)

I put the Goodyear F1's on the Cerbera a couple of months ago, and reckon they are much better than the Bridgestones or Toyos. They seem to give a good compromise between grip and wear rate.

I put F1's on my performance Capri and they transformed it so I fitted a whole set to my wife's MX-5 and they are excellent. Much more grip, much lighter steering.

I'm pleased to say I have a pair on the rear of my Cerbera. The others will get changed to F1's when they are worn.

I put Falken 452s on and it transformed the car. No tramlining.....

Cheaper as well

Bought a complete set of these too, reasonable too . I haven't driven them yet but the high power ricers rate them a lot. What did they replace

I've probably done about 500 miles now on a new full set of 452's. No complaints (or tramlining ) although the ride feels harder than with the Toyos on the back and Yokohamas on the front which were replaced. I'm still messing with the tyre pressures though - now running 24/26.

SO3's are IMHO awful. I had a set and got rid of them when they were only slightly worn. The Toyos seem to be the weapon of choice for a number of track day entheusiasts/sprinters.
