oil temp at 140 +

the guy who,s done the rebuild has put 15/50w oil in it , and says thats what it shud run on. any 1 have any ideas if thats right? thanks gray

Not far off, think 10w50 is what a lot of people run. Think the norm is 10w50. The 15 is a little thick for cold conditions but should be ok at the mo. Get it out before winter though.

I would suggest your temp guage is over reading. Where is the probe? WHen does it reach that temp? Chugging along or after high speed runs? I take it you have an oil cooler and it didn't get deleted during the rebuild. What's your oil pressure?
