Rover V8 engined Cerb on eBay

Apologies if it's been mentioned before, but there is a very professional looking Rover V8 conversion on eBay at the moment, and not long to go. If only I had some cash at the moment I'd be there, its pretty much my ideal TVR.

why do you keep mentioning; to 'up' the bids? a cerbera without an AJP is not a cerbie!

My apologies for blaspheming though, I didn't realize the Cerbie forum was so sacrosanct. As you were, I'll bugger off back to the Chim forum and post about a Chim 2+2 hardtop on eBay instead.

That's exactly what it is, a hard top 2+2 Chimaera. It ain't a Cerbera, it's had it's soul riped out.

It's probably nearer a 2+2chim now, with a very nice interior.

I must say I like the idea of a Chimaera 2+2 with roof.

However, if I was doing an engine conversion on a Cerbera I'd consider a LS-series V8 rather than a Rover.

Having said that, the Cerbera in this advert could take TVR Power's new supercharger conversion rather happily.

i am thinking of buying this,taking the engine out and putting in a lawnmower engine

I dunno, maybe it's because some people want the 2+2 body but don't want the highly strung nature of the AJP8 or the (alleged) grenadability of the Speed6 and like the burbliciousness of the Rover V8?

It would be a boring old world if we all liked the same thing though.

It would probably be more reliable, not that the characterful big brutish engine it replaces is actually that unreliable to start with, but it might be.

Thats a good point, I've not heard how Steve Heaths LS-Cerb conversion is doing recently, anyone know if its up and runing yet

Body is back on. Heatshielding is in place. Just connecting systems and plumbing before dropping the engine back in and firing up. Space will be left for the supercharger....
