Ok. My drivers side electric window is officially pi$$ing me off now. Its rediculously slow to the point of not even going up.

Can anyone help me, because when it comes to car electrics I am a tw@t.

Pictues of where earth points, switches, adjustment points are would be very helpfull.
My patience is bottoming out and I am getting a headache. Its no wonder I only smoke when I work on cars. Yes, cue DIY mechanic on fire jokes.

Your help is really appreciated.

i've no pictures or diagrams, bute heres what to do.

1. Go to Halfords and buy : - WD40, some Grease, Aerosol Nylon and Rubber Lubricant.
2. Go the the Bathroom and steal your wifes toothbrush.
3. Take of the Door Panel - put a strip of old carpet under the door, All the Alen key screws, by the front hinge, and all along the back and bottom of the door, then remove the panel, still attached to the wiring harness, and lay it on the strip of carpet.
4. Undo 1 electrical connection at a time, spray in WD40 and clean with a toothbrush, wipe and clip backtogether.
5. Spray the Nylon & Rubber lubricant allong the front and rear window channels wear the fron ant rear edge of the glass slides up and down.
6. Spray WD40 all along the Cable screw 'thingy' that wids up the window, then slap grease all along the whole length.
7. Press the Windows up and down and up and down and up and down again, each time spraying more of the N&R lubricant along the door channels.
8. The window should be sliding up and down freely by now, so put everything back together.
9. Put your Wifes toothbrush back.

Thanks mate for the reply. Although way ahead of ya. Door card is already off. Taken glass out. Taken rubber window guides out and looking to replace them monday.

In the meantime I am going to do the connectors, and clean the glass in my bath

Not sure what to do about the wife bit, but give the rest of it a go before trying new rubbers etc, a lot of the time all it needs is a bit of lube!

Would the relay mod help?

The Chims and Griffs, allegedly, only get about 8v to the motor, instead of the 12v required, and running a new power lead switched by the original with a realy is supposed to restore the window operation. I've not tried it yet on my Chim, but I will be.

Given the Cerbs blood line I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Cerb window motor is the same and the wiring equally dodgy. A few seconds with a decent multimeter should tell you.
