Ribbon for indicators.

I picked my car up from it's latest repair last night & my indicators had stopped working. Presuming it was a fuse, I carried on driving.

With the daylight this morning I decided to check the fuse & all is OK.

I looked under the steering column & spotted a ribbon floating about with five pins on the end. Then I noticed a little pcb with five pins.

I've put the two together & the indicators & hazards are working again, but there's hardly any slack on the ribbon & it wont push fully on to the pins. Do I need to be a bit more aggressive with it ?

I'm presuming on the road test, the the mechanic has adjusted the steering column position & dislodged it. After three years, I've just noticed the steering column goes in & out as well as up & down

Your worse than me.... There's a lever underneath, right of center, about 12" inches down, pull it down & you can put the steering wheel up & down & move it towards you or further away.

I've managed to push that ribbon all the way on, but Christ, there isn't even a mm of slack on it, or the big ribbon next to it.

Fortunately I've got the steering wheel at the highest point, any lower & I can see the lot falling apart.
