New boy risks trackday
Discussion
Hello out there
I was lurking for a little while before I jumped in and bought a Cerb, now having had it a couple of months I thought it was time to take it on the track.
I am off to Bedford on Saturday 14th October. Any advice?
Particularly, oil, brake fluid, oh and will I get in it with a lid on???
Many thanks in anticipation, Katman

There are a few good tips on the TVRCC site.

Watch the noise limits, I'm not sure what Bedford is like, but Cerbs aren't the quietest of cars at the best of times.
Don't try to get in with your lid already on, otherwise you should be OK unless you're extra tall.
Edited to say, most of all relax and have fun, don't take it too seriously and you'll have a great day out.

Thanks for that Tripps, should I not hesitate to join up, can't get access without it?

Whether or not to join he TVRCC is an age old question often discussed on here. I'd say yes, they organise very good (and well priced) track days and membership can get you good insurance discounts. If you're not sure have a wander over to your local region's monthly meet, have a gas and see what you think.
PS. Have e-mailed you the basics of the article.

Hi
First thing have you got sports exhaust fitted if you have you will need trackday silencers fitted it might be worth checking the DB limit for the track you are going on most are 98db some standard exhausts might go over too so it will be worth getting yours checked before you go as you do not want to get there and not be allowed on the track.
Have you got dot5 brake fluid otherwise you could be going into a bend and press the brakes and nothing happens it happened to me and it was not good experience needed to change my pants. So it might be worth seeing what was put in on your last service.
Get all your levels check and take some oil with you as the engine will run hotter and burn more oil.
Increase your tyre presures about an extra 4lbs
Don,t put your hanbrake on after you have come off the track it can make them warp leave it in gaer
dont forget to check your fuel level it can be easy when your having fun, find out where the local petrol station is that sells 98ron petrol and work out when you need to go and get some.
take anything out of the cabin and boot thats not screwed down bits flying around can hurt.
take your liscence and the right helmet.
If they have an instructor pay for him to sit next to you and show you the right lines it will also be the best mone you will spend and give you extra BHP.
Listen to the breifing and learn what the flags mean before you go.
Most important you will learn the limits of your car and lastly enjoy.

. Try to go out for a ride in some other cars with guys that have been a few times. Trackcar took me out in his v8 S definatly helped with learning the best lines to take.
