LOL i've just spent an hour checking my fuses and getting back in my car lol
i've got an optimate and left the boot gently closed on the wire i needed something from the boot got and shut the boot a little too hard ,
i could'nt re-open it tried the badge nothing got in the secret way then checked all the fuse nothing , i then tried to open the drivers door dead re checked the fuses again
still no good
so then i unlocked the car DOH! IT WAS LOCKED ALL THE TIME a quick blip and everything was fine lol ah well you live and learn

I had fun with my optimate yesterday as well. I reversed off my drive and forgot it was still connected under the bonnet! Luckily the interconnecting lead - to make it long enough - came appart at the connections. Scared the crap out of me as I saw a flash and heard a whipping sound (the cable snapping back). Thankfully all was ok.

opps i did that that on sunday lol i've done it about 3 times i always forget to do it if i don't have the cover on it !!!

My optimate lead goes over the steering wheel into the cigarette lighter socket. It's hard to forget then.

No, not every night.

I only do 5 miles round trip a day to and from work (with the odd 1 hour blast a few times a week if I'm lucky). So I tend to try and keep the battery topped up. Normally I connect her up once or twice a week. I'll probably start to increase this now Winters on it's way as she lives outside on the drive.

mine is hard wired in the boot i have a 3 pin plug that sits there but i only goto the rear of the car if i take the cover off hence forgetting to un plug it lol

If i going to leave the car for longer than a week i just disconnect the battery.

My Battery never goes flat, longest I left it was 2 weeks and it started first touch of the button, but usualy I only drive it at weekends, never had any problems.

A trickle-charger came with my car but I haven't even taken it out of the box.

The socket section is connected at the battery but I've never used it.

Mines is pluged in all the time i'm not using it. I find the electrics work better if its topped up. Doesn't labour the starter as much as well which can only be good thing!

Mines still in it's box after 2 years JJ. Regular use, (in my case 1500 miles/month) means you'll never really need one. 2-3 weeks standing and you'll probably dip below the volts required to start so worth keeping hold of. Get hold of an Optima yellow top if you plan on leaving it longer than a week regularly, otherwise, go hoon the arse off some of them Irish mountain roads twice a week.

My dad has just brought a 'solar' powered trickle charger, as we are moving house and building a new garage it will be sitting on the drive for a few weeks.
If you want the link give me a shout and i'll fish it out for you!
