I wish I had taken note of the details of the posts, so that I can re-reference them, but over the last couple of months, while reading back into some of the PH archives, there have been several comments about the cerbera not being around much longer.

The latest being one of the reviews of the cerbera this last week (here on PH)

Does anyone actually know anything, for sure... or are there any intilligant guesses out there as to whether the cerbie will be discontinued in the next few years.

I'd really f'in hate it, to find that when the day came that i could afford one, they'd stopped producing it.

Never was a Tuscan fan... imho, unless the cerbie was just 'upgraded' nothing will ever replace it.

Well... I hope to hear something encouraging from someone. Im starting to fear when the day comes, all that will be available are 2nd hand ones

Same here!
I will (hopefully) be in the position to buy a Cerbera in the coming years although not a new one.

It's quite of a miracle the Cerbera is still for sale after ten years since TVR are pretty used to launching a new car every two years.
I suppose they didn't ditch the Cerb because they actually had no idea of what car to put its engine in!

The Cerb may be replaced but AFAIK the AJP8 has cost TVR too much for letting it rest on the shelf.
Whatever happens to the Cerbera I'm sure the V8 will keep being used and developed.

They're still selling. No reason to halt production yet.

If TVR are reading, I have no reason to be 'biased' towards a Cerbera. I do not own and have not owned any TVR's, do not have kids and therefore dont *need* a car with 4 seats...

For me, there is no other car I'd rather have than the Cerbera. Given that visually, it has about as much road presence as anyone could ever want in a car, and everything else too, I seriously hope it isn't replaced. Not for a LONG while yet!

PW, let it be so!

ditto, a true hooligan of a car, at VW today someone turned up in a silver one with anthracite spiders, came down the hill on overrun popping and banging in true TVR style

why would they discontinue it, the cerbera is still selling and in RR guise is producing some pretty decent power.

Anyway, AFAIK its still Peter Wheelers weapon of choice out of the lot.

Well, I'm pretty sure that we will see a successor (sp?) on the next motor show.

Sales figures are ok for now, but with all luxury manufactures launching car with around 500bhp TVR has to move a step forward...

So I bet we will see a new 2+2 Coupe/Targa with a mighty new supercharged version of the Speed Six.

This package, a 500bhp beastie for 50000 GBP and the order book will be full very soon.

It would be nice to think that TVR could have a model that evolves like the Esprit, 911 etc. I don't think that will happen mind you.

I think that will be the only way to go, because of the european emmission rules.

First step into this direction was the T350 and it seems to work very well.

It's way to expensive to develope new engines and try to make them emmission legal in europe.

Also it's part of the latest marketing strategy from TVR with a main focus on Motorsport, which promotes the SP6 engine.

So I'm pretty sure that we are now in the SPEED SIX decade.

Just remember that in Nov2002 they upgraded bits of the car including the development of a new suspension system especially for the Cerbera. I doubt they would be investing such money if they planned to bin it in the near future.

The Cerbera is still the best looking TVR (IMHO)

By the way, what did cause the AJP8 to be pushed back for the speed six in Cerbies? Emissions, parts diversity, cost to manufacture, royalties, too many cylinders..?

Emissions, parts diversity and cost I guess. It was always going to be very hard to get a 2-valve per cylinder engine have decent power and still pass emissions - one of the reasons for the speed 6 I'm sure.

The Cerb will undoubtedly go eventually. However, if the time it took to finally discontinue the Griff, after it was supposed to be stopped, is anything to go by, they'll be made for a good few years yet!

It is a fact that the Cerbera will go, hopefully to be replaced by something to cater for us family drivers.

I'm not sure the epsrit, 911 keep the shape alive thing is good. It sort of works on a 911 but in my eyes the esprit was a car of the 70's and should have been binned.

I DROVE A CERBERA 4.5 GT ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO AND THE SMILE STILL HASN'T LEFT MY FACE , A REAL TUSCAN S BEATER! . IM SORRY TO ALL THOSE TEEING OFF AT THE LOCAL GOLF CLUB BUT I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF AS I WENT PASS , WHAT AN EXHAUST NOTE !!! . SO MR WHEELER IF YOUR GOING TO DISCONTINUE THE CERBERA MAKE SURE ITS WITH SOMTHING WORTHY ENOUGH TO BE A SUCCESSOR !!.

No need to shout. We all heard you....

IMHO The Cerb has always been the most aesthetically pleasing of all the TVRs. And that's from a Chimaera owner...

The roof doesn't come off - that's the only problem with it for me. We'd have got one instead of the Chim if it had been a cabrio.

I wonder if there'll be a Tuscan R with a removeable roof panel a la the Tuscan/Tuscan S one day....

I've gotta say that in the Motor Show in May I am expecting to see an elongated T350 with rear seats and a different back end.

Expecting or hoping, not sure.
