I need a new one. Radweld has been working well until now, but ive got my VAT to sort out this month, and other bits and bobs which means Im on a tight budget. Any ideas where I can pick up a cheap or reconditioned one? Im told its easy enough to change them over yourself, but Im probably not up to the job (cant be arsed to learn how either, and dont have the time)... suggestions anyone?

Give one of the dealers a call - Dom @ TVR Power is always helpful.

Otherwise try a breaker's yard - there are a few links in this forum for TVR specific ones. Use the search for breaker or wrecker...

I had mine re-built and up graded, it cost £150 and looked like new when done, it only took a couple of days at a place in Chesterfield and it's called Auto cool, tell 01246 456006 was very good service too.

How many hours labour should it be, to fit?

Don't know about that, i did it myself, i have no garage and so did out side against a wall which was not the best place to do it and it took me less than an hour to remove it with no problem at all. it took longer to put it back in due to me polishing every thing. (has to be done)

coul dyou remember how, its that no ones posted a how to for radiator removal yet

Had my rad re-cored this year, as I remember the standard core is off a Range Rover. Not sure about the uprated version though. Well worth doing and its not hard, a little fiddly getting to some pipes.

you can get a foreign spec recore (Landrover Saudi spec?).

Its quite easy, from what I can remember.
Remove the lower engine bay cover.
There are two bolts at the top (side's) of the rad, remove these.
Undo the water pipes, the bottom one can be tricky to get to and remove if its stuck to the rad.
Then lift out the rad. Be carefull it doesn't just slide out, so cover your wings just in case you drop it.
I think thats all there is?

Isnt it easier to remove the bonnet?

I did remove the bonnet, my car may be different to most on hear though due to it been a S6 but it a very easy job, well i think so, but i am an engineer so i am not in the best pos'n to say.
