Insurance time

As some of you will know im only 19. So the insurance situation on the cerb is pretty expensive! For my renewal this year ive had a couple of cheap quotes.....However they are with companys like insureyourmotor and kwickfit. Will companys like this provide decent cover??? or am i just paying for the bit of paper to make it legal to drive????

Could anyone recomed any insurers???

Came up trumps for me with Admiral and then I knocked them down a bit.

Yep that is with confussed. Just not sure about the credibility of the insurance companys.

Cant help im afraid, but I will watch this thread with interest...

At 21 (just - god im old) im still yet to find someone who will cover me as a *named* driver... though this might just be down to the people Dad uses for insurance?

Only company I've had any dealings with in terms of claiming is Direct line and they were very good. I'm 10 years older than you though so I can't comment on what they're like re. young drivers in supercars but they used to be fairly decent when I was about 23 driving a VTEC honda (ie. half the price of many other insurers)

Loads of people will insure me(for a price) Im sure someone would insure you as a named driver!

Have you tried Elephant?

They always came up with good quotes for me when I was under 25.
Also try putting your dad, mam, uncle etc on as named drivers i tried this and it seamed to knock a few £'s off every one i added.

KwikFit provide proper cover, just watch out if you have a prang as they'll try and push you do their nominated workshop rather than someone who knows what they're doing.

A plan for me this year. £529 on the Tiv, £100 cheaper that Tesco's renewal.

And £549 for the works van, £350 cheaper than the renewal from Gladiator.

I've just tried to get cover for a friend on A 96 1.2 Clio, 30 yrs old, no "no claims", provisional license for four years & these people were the cheapest at £405, don't know how good they'll be in the event of a claim, but she just wants the certificate to get herself legal.

My postcode meant that my first insurance on a smart car at 17 (in dads name, was his car) amounted to £1500... its only just got down to reasonable levels now, and that car is a group 2 insurance group.

Confused.com always want me to call up for a chat. last time I called up an insurance co, they laughed down the phone at me!! I would dearly love to be able to drive the Cerb normally... guess I'll have to make more of a concious effort to take it on track. To be honest, it would be useful if I could even drive the Audi, there are times when my two seater really isnt enough - again, impossible to insure for me.

when I was 17 I have a lambo countach and my insurance was £5K. That was a long time ago now.







OK I didnt really! Just feel left our what with all the teenagers owning cerbs!
