Trackday - Mechanical Issues?

I did a novice trackday recently. Brilliant fun, and the instructor definitely helped improve my lack of driving skill. Not surprisingly the car got hot, and although engine temp was under control. I kept the sessions short, and allow time for the car to cool in between sessions. However….
After my first 15 minute session I noted that the starter motor sounded whiney, and now seem to lack power. Could this be the heat or just coincidence?
Similarly, my diff developed a clonk, which happened when I turn at very slow speed (The car has done this a few times before, but only rarely in my three years of ownership). However after giving the car a day of rest (cool) it seems fine. Any ideas?
Oh, and my tyres started to melt, but I can work that one out for myself.

Not shure about the starter but it could be the heat affecting the electrics
The clonk on the sounds like the top mounting bush is going it will get worse.If it clonks after your have changed gear when you put yourfoot on the loud pedal then it is the top mounting and its a awkard job to do I think you need a tool to push the old one out and the new one in.
