Back to Cerbera again.Just want some thoughts and info from anyone on if they have done it and reasons why.Havent posted in the Tuscan forum because it would all be a little bit biased with the (once youve drove a Tuscan you wouldnt want to go back to a Cerb)comments.Need a true picture.

heard a few nasty stories, mainly engine ones. also the fact that cerbies are quicker. lol after seeing a sagaris making 334 hp i don't think i'll be going. waiting for TVR to release something new.

Really?? Whats up with it?/ atleast with a 4.5 AJP the rest of the claimed power can be found with a few mods.

went from a tuscan to a cerb 4.5 via a bmw 330 cab and back to a tuscan just recently, must say i found the cerb to be a bit claustraphobic and a bit hard work to drive went like the clappers though.
Like my present tuscan very very much as it feels a more modern design and i hope the engine issues which caused me to sell my first tuscan have been remedied.
Still go a bit week at the knees when i see and hear a niece cerb though.
My present tuscan certanly does not feel any slower than the cerb but to be fair they both goe like a bat out of hell, like the looks of the tuscan more and the slightly scary handling being an ex biker very sharp turnin which borders on the unstable only adds to the thrill.
This is my first ever post so i hope i have not upset any one with the above, TVR's are a bit special and i think we should stick together.

I agree with you on the claustraphobic front. What about general driving? Is the clutch as heavy?

clutch feels about the same but steering is lighter, the tuscan as a whole feels lighter and not as stable as the cerb. At very high speeds the tuscan is a bit nervous compared to the cerb, i would not fancy going for a top speed run unless i had to.
I think this is confirmed by the fact that you very rarely see a tuscan being driven in anger.[think i might get some flack there]

Head gasket, possible head failure... currently waiting a full investigation to see extent of failure. Had been having overheating problems and excessive coolant usage which initially was put down to radiator problem but the plumes of steam coming from one exhaust were the final confirmation that it was something far more nasty..

TVR Power may help me out, fingers crossed, as they carried out the RR conversion only 7k miles ago, I hope they will be sympathetic..

About 4 years ago there was a large number of of Tuscans at one of the TVRCC Bedford events. No offence intended but either Tuscan drivers are lacking in the capability department (which I genuinly do not believe to be the case) or your comments about stability on turn in are bang on.

By about noon it looked like that well known disney classic TVR on ice, more Tuscans doing pirouettes than laps.

Sorry to hear that andysgriff.

Daggart/Cerbhead also had problems after RR conversion IIRC? Hopefully TVR power will help you out and get it running 100% soon, good luck with it.

I have a cerb 4.2 and my neighbour a 2000 tuscan 4.0. We are insured for each others cars and swap sometimes so I have driven his car in anger.

the cerb is quicker

The handling on his tuscan is very good, but it has nitrons and is corner weighted. I prefer the set up on my car but that is track biased and i am very picky.

The cerb is quicker

The tuscan is a soft top and i miss that in the summer

the cerb is quicker

the cerb sounds better

the cerb is quicker

not that i am biased at all
