The old Gendarmes these days seem to be a lot less tolerant and you now hear stories of car confiscation for big speeds. I topped out at 140 on the way to Le Mans in 06 purely because at that speed you are fairly confident of just a (big) fine, at 180 I would not like to take my chances.

Germany and some of their desrestricted roads would be the obvious choice, although you will have to pick your times for it to be clear enough as I understand it. Join us on the Cerburgring trip another option.

As for uk tracks, are there any with long enough straights? My knowledge is not that great but considering VMAX is a mile with a rolling start then would imagine that is the best bet for the uk, mind you if you have decats and/or sports exhaust then a good chance you will be too loud.

I was watching Men & Motors 'canonball run' last week. A guy in France in a Porsche was stopped by the Gendarmes doing 157mph. They have him 2 choices only, an on the spot fine of £25,000 Or his car confiscated! No ifs, no buts, no court appearance.
And confiscated means just that, you'll never see it again, so you've been warned.

I've got brains too - but it was a documentary, and I'ts up to you to believe it or not believe it, after all, you'll only lose your car if it is true, no big deal really..
