Brake Cleaning Help.

Hi

I am spending this weekend with the wheels off (Again) and gonna give the brakes a good clean.

I have some Anti-squeal shims arriving via courier (Thanks to Craig-NitroCerb for organising it all) you have saved my life. really.

So...I have 4 cans of BraKleen and some Anti-Squeal grease, can of Silicon grease etc: Just wondering what happens after I give all the parts a good clean with BraKleen spray, do I also spray inside the pistons and where do I spray the silicon grease? As all the parts will be de-greased after BraKleen...I am just making sure that I lubricate everything again properly. 3rd time now trying to fix this bloody brake squeal - really wanna do it right this time.

Some pictures or any really detailed step by step advice would be greatly appreciated. Also please remember I am mechanically dyslexic.

Have you got copper slip as well?

You need to bond the shims to the back of the pad with sealant, silicone or such not silicone grease keep that away!

Just give the whole units a good clean, check the pistons for any damage and if you can take the discs off and wash those too. ensure you put it back together all clean with a smear of copper grease, except the friction surfaces.

Scoring and rust, unles they are stainless steel, not too sure
