I really rate the Toyo 888s and they're a lot better in the wet than you expect them to be. Wear rate seems similar to the old Bridgestone SO2s - last set I had, did three track days (inc an airfield which always seem more abrassive) and 3500-4000 miles of road use.
Thats encouraging, always imagined them to be like driving on ice/damp leaves in the wet. Might try them out on the spare rims.

i have run the cerb on the R888's for 2 years now are they are excellent both on the track and on the road. The difference in grip is huge in the dry especially once they are warm. They also have very good grip in the wet up to a point. Once the road/track is totally flooded they become a bit more tricky to use, but that takes a real downpour!
They are safe to drive right on the limit with predicatble slide and final breakaway points. I'd recommend them.
Oh be careful on fitting wider than 225's on the rear as dependant on your ride height they may rub on the rear arches because they have very square shoulders and as such have more rubber on the road in terms of width than many other tyres for a similar fitting.
225's on the rear are ample for most hooligan uses. Thats what I run.

Is that on the 16" Oz rims as it seems a bit narrow for the RL7's
, anyone run them on the RL's care to comment on what size they are running .

I ran 235's all round last season on the 17 inch racelines and they were very good. I won the first 2 events of the year then lost the engine which detroyed my season- but based on the early ersults my view was that the R888's are still the weapon of choice for track use. I have seen 255's at the rear but they do rub unless the ride height is very high and I reckon the side wall flex would be too great. I ahve nothing technical to base this on-just get feel
