CLUTCH PROBLEM!

Help!-Pushed the Cerb outa the garage this morning,noticed pool of fluid on the floor,got in the car & started her up,went to put her in gear,clutch pedal went straight to floor with no resistance.Havnt had chance to check if there is any fluid left in system yet,is this gonna be the seals on the slave or master cylinder?Whats the chances of sorting this myself?Any advice would be appriciated-Cheers.

Slave I expect, Master tends to leak into the drivers footwell.

Thanks,whereabouts is the slave cylinder exactly located?Is it a b*****d to get to?If I replace the seals & bleed the system,will that sort it do you think?

The slave is in the gear box, so the box has to come out. I had mine done a while ago it's a big job and the parts seem hard to get hold of.

Definitelly the Slave cylinder, exactly the same thing happened to mine, and its still in the garage waiting for a Slave Cylinder - 3 weeks so far. If you top up the master cylinder it will be OK for a few weeks, but may slowly coat your clutch in fluid.
The uprated one from Joo at Track Car is worth getting, at £260, but you'll have to wait a bit.

I see your in Rugby? Try Steve Guglielmi, of Guglielmi Motorsport 01327 878425. He is in Daventy any will sort you out. Top bloke and as he was TVR Tuscan Champion he really knows his stuff.

I suspect it is the slave. Looking at about £500 for the clutch, may as well do it while the box is out, and £500 labor.

Any advice regarding removing the gearbox would be welcome if there is anything particularly tricky with the Cerb gearbox?Have taken boxes out before but not on a Cerb.Thanks-Regards.

Esso - Where did you get your slave cylinder from - a stndars TVR one or the improved Clevor Trevor one? I got mine today (well the garage did) and they're fitting it early next week, so hopefully after 4 weeks I'll soon be back in love with my Cerb again - at the moment I'm P****d off with her .

Mad Mark - I wish I had a pit or a 4 post lift, I would have done it myself and saved ££££'s, good work Mate, the Cerb may be a Supercar but in reality its less complicated than my modern Honda.

My pit certainly does help alot, although I would say its still posible to do with the car on ramps, or maybe ramps on a layer of bricks.

Got it from TVR POWER in Coventry,standard one nitride hardened,now the fun starta-FITTING IT!-Regards.
