Replaced throttle cable

Hi y'all - I replaced my throttle cable today what a fiddly job, you really need long skinny hands and arms with two elbows to feed the cable around the top of the footwell, above the master cyl and out through the bulkhead.

I've a little trouble with it - firstly, the throttle is staying open a little now when I come off the pedal, maybe needs some adjustment? Can anyone comment?

Also the top of the pedal is slightly out of line with the cable mounting, I think because the pedal pivot bar was slightly bent. Its strange that its only supported one side - its bound to bend a little over time, especially if the pedal is pushed hard!

I wonder if anyone's thought about making an extra bracket to strengthen the unsupported end of the bar?

I also think the cable is a little long - there's a bit too much you have to 'lose' up above the pedals for my liking. This is an original part though.

try pumping some engine oil dwon the cable if its sticking, also check the condition of the return spings on the butterflies as one of these was bust on mine or they can just find their way out of the little location pin.
