throttle linkage

looking to do some fiddling this weekend, the adaptives are out as well as the t-pots so hoping to try and get it sorted, its a 4.2. i had a quick look last night and tried to disconnect the throttle linkage between the 2 banks (to set the t-pots to 15 - closed) to no avail, how is this done? (yes, i've done a search). I unscrewed the nyloc but the threaded ball-rod thing won't push through the hole, is this threaded in as well? or should the ball 'pop' out of the linkage?

also, t-pot 1 is on the passenger side from what i can tell, is this also the 1357 bank?

If you look closely at the 'ball' there should be a wire 'pin' or clip which clips on behind the ball and has a prong which pokes through into the socket, rotate this off the shank and withdraw it, you should then be able to 'pop' the ball off
