Loudest Cerbera in the world.....

Pic says it all really. One of my back boxes fell off on the A1 on Friday so I went to the local custom exhaust shop on Saturday a little bit upset at my cars fragility and anyway, got talking to the guy about options. I didn't want anything bling, I had decided that, but when he said that as the car was so loud anyway, loosing the silencers probably wouldn't make much difference I foolishly thought yes, simpler, lighter, more fireworks, less to fall off!!!! And so it was........ (Oh, no cats either!)

Fired the car up and OMG! Although I have no doubt I'll be pulled over and given some stern words by the plod, I now have the most violent sounding Cerb there is. If you thought pops and crackles sound good with sports pipes...... reminds me of a GPMG on full tilt only louder!!!! I'm sure after 3 hours on the A1 tonight I'll be desperate to get them off though!!!! http://rides.webshots.com/photo/22498

You're a brave man.

I am sure that after a few weeks of your ears hurting you'll revert bck to putting some boxes on.

Joolz ran mine straight through from the intermediate pipes back (just two pieces of straight SS and no boxes) when doing some research, the sound was deafening, so put the bespoke back section back on and it's still bloody loud. I'll try - might get my mate to capture some 'drive-by' acceleration runs from a chase car!! Jules - can't believe your car hasn't sold. Anyone who bought a Cerb within the last few weeks should hold their heads in shame at such a missed opportunity.

Ah well, I'll be off to the dyno shortly (just dropped the GTX for Mobil 1 15w50 motorsport stuff so fair game now) and I have high hopes for my little 4.2. She's breaking traction at the top of 2nd now in a straight line on dry roads. Never used to do that before and it was healthy then!! Not a big lairy slide, but the revs surge and the back end waggles slightly. Added to the race car sound track, I can safely say Cerb owneship has never been so much fun!!

I agree on the sale of my car, but their loss is my gain, well at least until next spring.

Your hard work with the engine definitely sounds like it's payed off, it will be interesting to see your dyno graph up against a std 4.2 graph as it sounds as though it is performing beyond what it used to. Keep us informed.

I have no idea - it was a 2.0 normally aspirated engine, and posted 11.6 secs at 114mph. From the time slip it got to the 60ft markerer in 1.5 secs!!!!!!
