I think 7500 is where the rev limiter is set, it'll buzz at you when you hit it! I don't take mine up that high so have never hit/heard the limited but I know guys that have.
If you are going to do this then I'd make sure your fluids are topped up and the whole car is more than warm! When I say the whole car I mean gearbox, diff and Engine, they all take a pounding at high rev's

The rev limiter is set differently on different cars, in the usual random TVR way. Mine beeps at me at about 7,200 which I find is plenty!
Some of the chaps who tweek their motors have adjusted the limit for drag racing - I believe they get stuck having to change up in to third just before the end of the strip...

That'll be into 4th gear at the end of the strip!
I beleive the buzzer goes off around 7000rpm on mine (4.2) and there is a hard-cut limiter after around 7200rpm, though I've never hit it because I always change at 7000rpm. There is so much mid range torque on tap its a bit pointless squeezing it any harder - all the power graphs I've seen have peak power just below 7k, so its a bit pointless taking it higher.

really? mine kept on pulling and pulling! though i didnt take it past 7500, dont think it went past 7k really!
My Dyno graph tails off at 6500rpm so no need to over rev it.

Stop showing off ! Yours is bigger than mine ;-)
You'll break your crank if you rev past 7,500 especially on a 4.2 engine - see other threads 
. The 4.5 has a stronger crank than 4.2 and it is physically limited to 7,500 due to problems in the crank design. There should be a soft-limiter at about 7250 and hard limit at 7,500. If yours hasn't got this - BE VERY CAREFUL - it doesn't change the engine's physical limit.
