I wouldn't recommend guessing! There are a lot of threads re getting a decent reading.
Generally the approach for a V8 is to check it cold on a level road.
Remove the dipstick and leave it out for at least 5 minutes - some say leave it overnight.
Clean and dip until fully home but don't turn the stick to lock it.
Remove and check - I always get a good reading on the reverse side of the marks.
Aim to keep it on the max mark.
I did this last weekend and would guess 7 litres. Where is the dipstick on your car - front or back? Also, I'd recommend priming the system after refilling the oil, plus you need to consider how you are going to change the oil that will be sitting in your oil cooler.......... drill pump required to do it properly.
Regular oil changes using a good quality oil is the easiest and best way to increase the life of your engine. Think of the oil as a solution of the oil and all the minute crap that gets into the oil over time that the filter can't pick up - carbon deposits, metal filings, fuel etc etc. If you just keep adding oil, the concentration of these unwanted bits increases to eventually damaging levels. I'd leave it out overnight. Never fails.
