Engine number location

Where exactly is the engine number stamped on the engine?

I asked this a few years ago...I didn't get an answer, so sorry I don't know!

The engine number on the early AJP8 are close to the Oil/Water pump on the engine casing (Up to about late 95)
Later numbered to the area on the right hand cylinder block,
When viewed from the front of the engine,
Immediately below and to the right hand end of the juncture of the cylinder head and block.

I found it.

It's on the front of the RHS of the block.

It can be seen from above by looking in at the engine while standing at the RHS of the car and peering down beside the air-con compressor.

You'll need a torch.
