I have developed an annoying issue.
The door release button outside intermittantly ignores me, then I have to go to the boot and pull the release handle, hardly very stylish!
When this is happening the window will forget which is top and will hence stop about 1inch from the top, opening and closing the door doesn't help, it just stays there. Normally after much sodding about opening closing doors (driver and passenger) and messing with window levels it closes (normally the sequence of open door (from inside), close door, open boot, release driver door, open passenger door, move driver window up to the 1inch from top position, get out, close passenger door, close boot, close driver door seems to do the trick). This may continue for 3 or 4 days, then it self fixes and the door release / window are fine. Then the passenger door will mess for a few days such that the window does not open upon release or that the window will open and then close again before the door is shut. Then back to issue one again....
ANY IDEAS????

1st thing to do is get the door panel off and have a look at the wiring multiplugs in the door.
The panel is removed by undoing several allen head screws around the door. 2 by the hinge on top, a couple down the rear by the latch and a few underneath.
Careful when removing the panel cos there will be wires attached for the speaker and internal button. I expect the multiplug will be quite corroded, mine was. I tried cleaning all the contacts and spraying with switch cleaner but it stopped working again after a couple of months.
Best thing to do is cut off the corroded terminals and reconnect with new spade crimp terminals.

The fact that it migrates around between doors and affects windows on both sides (but only one at a time) would (to simple old me) not just be the terminals in one door...?
Though someone with more nouse than me is perfectly welcome to tell me I'm wrong and that they loop-back / are all connected together so that one terminal block in one door can take out the whole system or something like that.

I've had a door panel off whilst looking at fitting different speakers, and there is only one plug in the door taking all the speaker, door switch stuff etc.
It's a really easy thing to check first. Have someone standing by to help when the inner door panel screws are removed, just for additional help, and the same when putting it back together again.
Mine was sealed with some black sealent at the top front edge as well.
