Warning - City Limits, Romford

If anyone lives anywhere near Romford or has ever thought of going to this "Amusement Centre" - Warning. There is a particularly violent speed hump right by the entrance, I slowed down to 5mph for it and still thumped the underside of my p&j quite hard on it. Coming out I had to slow to less than 1mph and just torque-haul it up and over.

Hi Ben,
We sometimes have little run outs into Ongar leaving from City Limits.
The speed bumps are a bit high but i've not bottomed out on them yet.

Whilst on the subject of grounding out in in the Cerb, I have noticed that the bolts that hold the seats in place protrude quite low through the chassis. I was thinking of grinding mine flush with the chassis, to prevent possible major damage under there.

Why?

I'd rather damage a bolt than a chassis? The bolts under the cats and such holding the plate on get hit the most.

But if you hit the bolt hard enough (which doesn't need to be that hard) it can damage the chassis with it.

Remove the protruding thread and reduce the risk.

Good reply Mark, but I can assure I slammed the chassis both sides. Maybe mine is lower than yours, maybe not but the bastard bit me.

I ripped a hole (20mm) out of the exhaust pipe where the hanger fastens on to it. Luckily, repaired using exhaust bandage and two jubilee clips. Not sure how long it will last. Also raised the car an inch. Lot better now...has more clearance, and better for portch baiting as I dont need to back off on some roads.
