Connector for Black box for headlight connectors

Hi,

is it possible for anyone to take a picture of the black box (me0003) with the connector so that I can see the colour code-to-pin mapping - would be much appreciated as I am putting one back together.

my wife has just commeneted that i havent concentrated this hard on something like ever.... ;-)

so - i have decided to go the whole hog now.... the whole connector on the black box has been cut out - have now put new legs coming off the pcb into substantial connectors to clean this lot up.....

will be out buying relay's tomorrow :-)

out of interest - i checked out the ratings of the pins / connectors and i guess these look like the actual issue point - the rest of the components on the pcb do look as if they are upto the job!!!!

I will knock some pictures out of the pcb if interested?

I solder the burnt wires direct to the PCB to cut out the connector block bit, as you say the rest of the box is up to the task, just no the connector pins

my dipped headlights indicators and dash lights went today, checked the lights box and one of the pins on the connector is charred, do you think the lights box is duff?, how do you bypass the charred connector - is it literally soldering the wire to the correct point on the pcb?

hi southend - this is exactly the same problem as we are discussing. Basically - the pins on the connector corrode slightly. This then builds up electrical resistance - and this is dissapated in the form of heat.

if you find the pin on the pcb - you can solder directly to this - and this will defintely help (and the flickering will defintely stop)...

the ultimate way to stop this is as Phil has said in the other thread - and use relays for the headlight circuit - look at this - and this will give you great insight.
