Some nice fella wants to buy my cerb and has offered me full asking price which is nice BUT he wants me to deliver the car to him in.....Newcastle which is about 300miles from were i live , he has not even seen the car have sent him a lot of photos like he asked but he still seems dead keen i told him he would have to give me a £500 deposit through paypal before i even left which he said yes to and would meet him at a motorway services with the rest in cash , What do you people think i know its a long way to go but i do need to sell the car as i just bought a bigger house and cant afford both so i dont know
be extra careful, i'd take 5 friends..........unless your one friends a minigun 
Someone who can't be bothered to come and see the car sounds dodgy to me, plus £500 is cheap for a cerb when you get abandoned 300 miles from home.
Although saying that...
....years ago i was selling a car (pug 306 rallye) and i had a call from a finance company (someone wants to buy your car blah blah) asked me a few questions about the car, said that was fine and asked for my bank details to deposit the full asking price
i gave them one of my accounts i don't use so no money in it and guess what the next day i had the full asking price in my bank account and i was still driving the car!! The owner then collected it TWO weeks later ( i never spoke to owner until he collected it)
Was all quite bizarre....
...but my point being, if he wants the car tell him to pay all the money up front or offer to pay his train fare and collect him

full amount of cash on delivery or no car. Do not deal with pay pal at all.
If a cheque is offered allow 10 days to clear and ensure funds are in you account before you hand over car. B/draft- do not trust them at all.

Check out every aspect then. Meet in week and take notes straight to bank to be checked.
Sorry but that just screams car theif to me, not to sound mellowdramtic but even if three of you go up if they are that way inclinded and pull a gun what are you going to do?
As said £500 for a cerb is damm cheap and a service station car park!?!? why not make it a dark alley and be done with it!

Paypal is NOT 100% safe. My advise don't use it. Bankers Draughts can be dodgy and cash even worse. I favour electronic transfer (BACS or PACS), my bank guarantee transfer within the hour for £25 charge. If he is so keen on having the car, he should agree to your Money Exchange terms. Be Careful, people have made massive mistakes and suffered the consequencies.

these people rely on the fact you may be desperate or need to sell your car and will get you to do anything to sell it.
If he wants it so much, he'll make the extra effort
and as said cash isn't safe at all, he could give you the cash and be fake and lose your car after you've signed it over
meet him at his house at the least....

Paypal accounts can be hacked into...apparently young Romanian computer geeks are geniuses in this field and sell their account info over web forums in code etc.....if you do go to a service station ..do the deal near the pumps where CCTV is everywhere..not in a deserted car park nearby...best wishes...I hope all the pessimism is unfounded but it`s sensible to be careful...

I wouldn't entertain this. No car, no documents or keys, so no help from the insurance.
