What and where can you buy the best value battery for money Cerbera 4.5 LW and how hard is it replacing it, many thanks, Chris.

I think alot of the guys have used halfords as they do free fitting too. It can be a pain to do so this might be of use!

I think from memory its a 072 or 075 cant remember.

Yep did my own with the Halfwits one, if I can do it then it must be presumed to be pretty much a piece of pee.

If you purchase one from Halfords make sure it fits in the aperture in the wing.I bought one from them for my 4.5 and it was too tall!Got a "Banner" one from local parts shop(£70)-no problem.Best to take the old one with you so they can check the outside dimensions of the casing.

Best bet is to try and remove your old one and take it with you. The Halfords 072 should fit as this is what I have in mine, it also has a 3 year warranty and judging by the way the Cerbs get through batteries (some, not all), you'll probably never have to pay for another battery again.

Remove the top protective cover (under windscreen)

Unbolt the passenger side airbox and loosen away from brackets

Remove the purple pipes from the airbox and not the top of the engine, and this will allow you to move the airbox out of the way of the battery

Remove the bracket that holds the battery in place (bottom of battery)

Then the tricky part! Wriggle, pull, lift the battery all in one movement to get it to clear the raised bolt hole at the bottom front of the battery, you may need a big screwdriver to lever and persuade it free.

Once free disconnect both terminals and away you go to Halfrauds.

If all goes to plan it should take around half an hour, just make sure you have the right allan keys and socket set bits.
