So here we are in 2007, the year of the CERBURGRING 
Am still getting a trickle of enquiries by email and have to concede that the plan is now well and truly lost in the other thread. As we now have confirmed ring dates and it is actually the year we leave, I thought a new thread would be in order (keep Tracey happy as well, she wanted a new thread ages ago

THE PLAN
Outbound: Saturday 14th April Norfolk Lines, Dover to Dunkerque dep 10:00.
Staying : Radisson SAS Scandinavia Düsseldorf for nights of 14th & 15th April
Returning : Monday 16th April Norfolk Lines, Dunkerque to Dover dep 16:00

The above is a "suggestion" for those wanting to travel and stay as a group, all bookings are to be made by yourself direct with the ferry and hotel companies. Düsseldorf is about 1hr 20mins away from the ring according to multimap, some distance but gives us a chance to have somewhere to go out on the Saturday after we arrive. If you want to do your own thing (different ferry route for those from the North or perhaps staying closer to the Ring etc) then feel free, the main thing is to get as many Cerbs at the ring for the main driving day which is Sunday 15th April, the ring schedule shows that it will be open from 0800 to 1930 on this date, so barring catastrophic closures then we should get plenty of opportunity for some laps and some spectating.
THE COST:
Ferry: around £45 for return crossing
Hotel: around £60 per night for a double/twin.
Ring: 1 Lap: €19/£12, 4 Laps: €64/£43, 8 Laps: €124/£83
Food, Drink, Petrol & any tolls obviously on top. Hotel and Ferry prices may rise as we get closer and they get more booked up. If people are interested and depending on numbers, it might be worth booking in at the Pistenklause for Sunday lunch which seems to be a traditional requirement of any ring visit.
Fubes is looking into a support package with Paul at Austec, but regardless I would suggest that you have full European Breakdown cover in place to cover repatriation of your car if it is unfixable over there. Many of us may already have this but be aware that some will not recover cars from the ring itself, read the smallprint.

Oh and finally, whilst predominately a Cerb trip, we are not being exclusive so other makes of car are welcome (already have BMW's and Porkers joining in). Just mention this so if you have friends etc that want to come then all are welcome.

If you are doing a different ferry or staying elsewhere then also note that here just so we can keep track (it may also have a bearing on whether you would want to contribute for the support).

Chaps Andy (Guillotine) above has also been kind enough to drop me a line with regards to a possible support package, in association with Tvr Monster and Tvr Car Parts. It is the same support offered on Andy's own trips so covers most things and looks to be a good deal. Obviously there is a fixed cost for this and looking at it we would really need a minimum of 25 cars to make it financially viable. Obviously Andy needs to know soonish so I have suggested we use the 15 Feb as a cutoff date, should we have enough cars by this date then we can confirm it all. Under this number and we will be reliant on our own personal breakdown policies (not forgetting the possibilities of using that German based one which covers the ring itself, unlike AA etc).
Obviously we also still have Austec looking into this as well so we could have a couple of options available to us.
Basically what I am saying is
If you are coming, get booking and get your name down asap
