Stereo upgrades...what have you done...opinions please

Hi all
So the missus bought me a really nice Kenwood stereo for xmas 'G' force meter built in and everything, so my dilemma is this, i want to fit an amp and sub/s, i've seen photos of people putting a 10" sub in the helmet hole, which looks great, but what i want to know is if anybody has put subs in the boot, and how the sound transfers past the metal fuel tank.
Photo's of both ways would be great if possible.
And i know i've left myself open to all sorts of ridicule with this question but for me having an awesome sounding stereo is part of the driving experience.
Don't worry though, there will be NO drum and bass NO techno and NO rap.
And i also know that the cerbera provides it's own 8 cylinder symphony.
But you all have to admit that the standard system is seriously LAME

There was a yellow one in the classifieds a couple of months ago that had it done and it looked the business.
I was actually going to view the car but it had no air-con so I dismissed it.
I may have a picture of it somewhere and if I do I'll post it on here for you.

I've put a pair of 10" subs and an amp in the boot of mine and it sounds great, IMHO. Far better than you would think what with the sound travelling through the fuel tank.
(Also it keeps it all hidden out of view keeping things standard looking)
I could still do with upgrading the front door speakers to compensate, but the ones I have will do for now.

I'm not a base freak like some of you guys obviously are (Mad Mark 
) so my install is a bit different. 6 MB Quart speakers - 2 X 6" two way speakers in the front, 2 x 4" two way speakers in the rear and 2 x 6" woofers in the helmet hole. Clarion head unit, no amp yet, although I'm not convinced I need one given the sound quality. It was Carl Baker's idea to go this way over a single sub in the helmet hole and the sound is much more coherent, the system being capable of handling pretty much anything. He's done a few more Cerbs since mine too. It's horses for courses, but if you want to have a listen, before you part with any £s, and you're reasonably close to me, let me know.

Not entirely sure, just one Carl recommended, easiest thing to do would be to call him. I'm looking at feeding my MP3 player into it, it has an auxilliary input, so it's probably just a case of getting hold of a phono to 3.5mm jack lead and plugging it in. If you want full integration with the iPOD I don't know if it's possible.

The Clarion we have is a DXZ758RMC off the top of my head !

Just trying to work out how to get greater capacity in there. I suspect it's a hard drive and most likely it can be swapped out for one of greater capacity.
