How do you get under your Cerb?

Have had my Cerb for 3 months and clocked up 3k very enjoyable miles. Various oil drips appear under the car when parked in the garage, so I am desperate to get underneath to see where they are coming from!

How do you home mechanics get underneath your cars to check the gearbox and diff oil levels and generally check that all is well under there? Normal ramps aren't any good because of the overhang and the fact that it is very low.

Apart from a pit, what's the best way to get enough clearance?

I jack it up and put it on axle stands, your local garage may let you borrow the 4 post lift for a small charge.

I got these little beauties from Wood auto factors in Huddersfield.
They weren't cheap at £85 for the pair but they offer a shallower slope so nothing scrapes and they top out at about 9.5 inches high which is just about ok for me - trust me - I'm not small.

I do what Kevin63 says. The jacking points are just aft and forward of the front and rear wheel arches where the chassis outrigger support bars attach.

They look good, do they say who makes them? I could see there is a local supplier as I am in Kent.

£85 isn't too bad, I was considering some full length ramps that raised the car 25", but cost about £900!!

To be honest I dont know who makes them but the number for Wood Auto Factors is 01484 422771.
The part number is CR/3 and they come in at £73.50 plus VAT. Give em a ring they might tell you who made em - they may even ship a pair out to you.

Thanks, I'll give them a call. I like the thought of having the front on ramps and then using a trolley jack and axle stands to lift the rear.....would feel a safer!

I've got a pair of trolley jacks that are low enough to fit under. I jack both sides a little at a time, then put axle stands under. Then repeat at the rear.

My wife reckoned I was mad putting a pit into one side of the garage when it was being built a couple of years ago.

I had an Elise at the time and I got plenty of use out of it then.

Now that I have a Cerb I'm getting good use out of it again.

Money well spent, methinks.

I like those but can see a small problem

ramp people said:

Once ramps are aligned with front or rear of car slowly drive up.

You will feel the wheels go over the rear end stops and into the front units.

Apply hand brake and lock into 1st gear or park if automatic.

I feel the need for some additional chocks - I wouldn't trust a Cerbera handbrake
