I set off my first car alarm today

I've had my car about four months now and it's taken 'til today for it to set off a car alarm as I drove past.

It actually took a second for me to register what had happened.

I know I've read on here in the past about this happening with alarms but, as with most things you don't pay much heed 'til it happens to you.

So is this normal to be setting them off?

Very normal. I seek out multi story car parks to play havoc.

Mine does it all the time, sets the neighbours off every morning at 6 when I leave for work
don't think he sees the funny side of it!!

First gear, slow take off, up to 3.5K revs nice n slow and the release the loud pedal and slow to 1500 revs. Repeat on each floor.

I set one off earlier tonight. An Audi had nearly boxed me in outside a friend`s house. The Cerb was only at tickover, but I had to squeeze through a gap with about an inch to spare. Cue twitching curtains as I booted it up the road.

I managed to set two off a few days ago when I had to 3-point turn (okay, 7-point) at the end of the road. Quite made my day it did .

My first time was at the pencil museum in Keswick. We set off a couple of 3 series BMW's, an X5 and a volvo as we drove into the carpark

I had this last summer with my cerb, set a 4X4 alarm off on a caravan park. The guy came out looking for the damage on his motor, no damage mate just the sonic boom from the exhausts

Set my first alarm(s) off about a month ago. Was stuck behind a bus that decided to take a break in the middle of the road, rather than using the horn I decided a few revs would catch the bus drivers attention, up to 4k RMP and down twice, then the alarms on two cars parked on my left start going off. Great fun.

I must get in a multi storey. My decatted 4.5 with sports exhausts pops and bangs like 50 shotguns going off after releasing the loud peddle. On the way home my wife can hear me tanking along from about 1 1/5 miles away before I pull on the drive.
