ECU Cable again

Hi Everyone

I've spent most of the morning searching but I'm as confused as ever.

I've got a 2001 4.5 which by the looks of it has 2 cables coming out of it - both seem to be 3 pin female conectors - can someone point me in the direction to get it connected to my lapap (which by the way only has a usb conection - i've purchased a 9pin serial to usb connector)

Open the ECU, inside you will find a 9-pin D connector. Be careful not to touch any of the internal components.

I opened it but it dosent have the 9pin cable inside. I read that the newer ones dont have a 9 pin

nope you're right they have a 3 pin cable. you should have one three-pin cable and one two-pin cable on your later car. the three pin cable is the one to connect to

to the interconnect cable .. you can buy these from all good stockists
