Anyone got rid of mirror button entry on their Cerb?

Must admit to toying with the idea of getting rid of the button entry system and replacing it with more conventional set-up, as I am so fed up with the windows not dropping when you open the door and you end up clouting the glass when you slam the door and the sodding alarm going off sometimes just when your driving along the road, would love to rip all that crap out and sart again with something a bit more reliable!
Early Chim and Griffs had a mechanical push button on the top of the door near the 'b' post, presumably same system could be fitted to a cerb, only problem then is the electric windows, the fact they drop to clear the a pillar trim/wind deflector is a right pain otherwise one could fit wind up windows.
Has anyone done anything like this on their Cerb?

I note your frustration, but why not just fix whatever's wrong with your door-opening system?
Most Cerbs' door opening works well, problems are usually just the magnetic sensor or water in the door wiring.
I'm toying with the idea of fitting remote opening from a keyfob, its just SO annoying having to reach for the door mirror!

Interesting idea. I know that Cerberas converted to racing just used a simple system like the one you describe. Could you modify the wind deflector so that it wouldn't catch?
It's only spot where the glass catches so you could maybe get away with trimming them a tad.

I'm doing a fingerprint entry system on mine sparky... and a manual mechanical override... as far as the deflectors go, be careful how you mod them, they're designed that way for a reason... last thing you want is mad side turbulence catching your car off guard at high speeds....
Now now 007 . Sound like a very fancy system.
Actually it's the finger prints on the tops of the door/glass that always bug me, clean the car up get it nice and shiny pop the door and get finger marks! Bah!
..so what I do is wind the window down from INSIDE the car, get some windolene and non-abrasive cloth and ever so carefully clean the fingermarks away then buff to a shine to match surrounding paintwork.. then wind the win...
..ok ok so I don't do that. (yet)

The little red handles are the manual release. they will let you out in the event of an electrical problem.
You could also fit a hand held fire extinguisher. mine is mounted on the drivers side floor just in front of the seat for easy reach-having siad that i am not huge so it doesnt touch my legs

So if he is out cold he has acess to a pair of manual release handles inside the car?
How does that help the marshall?
