Going back to standard air filters - i'm deaf.

I've currently got a pair of green k & n type filters on the cerb and its bloody loud! After a two hour trip last weekend iu'm thinking of going back to the standard induction set up.

Will this make much difference to the noise level ( in car ) ? - and will it affect performance ? This is how the car came to me, but i have all the parts to put back to original , other than a filter element.

Anyone done this ?

I am doing it as my car is too loud. I hate to admit it as I love the noise sometimes. BUT I have kids, I am not a lad, it can be a bit max power etc...

You'll probably notice a slight decrease in noise from the engine bay, but you will notice a slight gain in performance. I did a few tests with Joolz at Track Car Solutions and the standard air filter set-up gave better results than the cone filters, not by a massive amount though but enough to put me off doing it.

While you're at it, I believe Joolz does an alternative to the standard that does not clog up so quickly.
