What engine?

Sorry if this is a repost, but...

Looking at selling the RS500 I have and POSSIBLY looking at a 'proper' sports car, maybe a TVR Cerb?

Now, I know they are not THE most reliable cars out there, but I would not be doing a lot of miles anyway!!!

So, what engine should I go for, reliability wise etc....?

its funny you should post on here as im after a tvr in the next couple of months,but have seen your car for sale and its on my shortlist,as i cant seem to drag myself away from cosworths...from what i can make out but someone more experienced will surely come along,the 6 cylinder engine can be troublesome and doesnt suit the car,the 4.2 and 4.5 v8's are reliable with good maintenance,and differ in that the 4.2 is more responsive but slightly lower powered than the 4.5,but on the road the performance is hard to tell apart.

heheh there are at least 2 posts a week asking this.

... and each time people answer the questions without referring the "questioner" to the search facility. I believe that search facilities are preferred only by a certain type of person (me) so perhaps for all others we ought to petition for a sitcky/FAQ.

I'd be happy to start one... in fact I'd simply base it on the last time I provided an answer based upon my having extensively searched for my own answers.

I agree - Start one Mars, called "Buying a Cerb" or something like that, and make it a sticky. I'm fed up of the same things being asked all the time because peope cant be arsed to search.
