CAR NOT LOCKING...

I have just picked up my FIRST cerbera/..//4,5 blue ..magnolia leather...beautiful car.//helpful guy who sold it to me...battery was a little low when i went to pick it up...we jumped the car with some leads and once running there were no probs...drove 2 hours home..WHAT A DRIVE.....posts on that later ....but get out of the car ..go to lock it and the car no longer locks...the two key fobs..do nothing...i,m sure its minor cos the guy used the keyfobs to open the car in the first place,...any ideas guys ..cos at the moment its unlocked and the poor cerbera is a little vulnerable

charge the battery right up the alarm doesn't like being left to go low and to hopefully get the locks working, open the boost and with the ignition OFF unplug the window / door control box it'll be on top of the fuel tank on the RHS behind the velcro flap make a note of what plug goes where. leave it for 10 minutes and plug it all back in again

this should reset the box and hopefully help

that was a typo - he means 'boot'.
Above the fuel tank behind the grey carpet curtain you will find the control boxes. There are a few of them.

hi guys..did the door control reset and nothing..car still doesnt lock...any ideas anyone...

I wouldnt worry about it being vunerable. PEople dont break into TVRs or steal them (generally)!!!
You could remove the silver key if you really want to play safe tonight.
I would charge the battery up just in case as a low battery makes TVR electrics do strange things.
It could be the jump start has stuffed something.

Had the same problem with mine. Tried the black box thing a couple of times and even swapped boxes with another Cerb, to no avail. Turned out someone had botched the wiring behind the helmet holder. It cost me £250 to get it sorted.

i use to drive a porsche carrera 996. m3 before that and a4 3.0 before that //// so looking forward to telling u guys how they handle..in comparisom to the cerb

Get an optimiser and keep your battery tricle charged between use.

I've had two issues with mine -

1. Wouldn't lock OR close the windows. Sorted by unplugging the control box for 1 min, then with driver door open, plug box back in and hit the keyfob, then close the door and keyfob again.

2. Would not come out of a triggered-alarm state after a flat battery. Keyfob non-responsive and the hazard lights flashed for c.45sec every time a door was opened. Solution was to remove the pos(+) battery terminal for 1min, then reconnect (with car closed up) and press the keyfob after a 15 second wait.

Very simple but worth trying, worked on mine a time or 2 when the windows wouldnt go all the way up on closing;

Just press and hold the key fob buttons, try both, for 10-15 seconds and you might get a reaction out of the car.

And remember dont ever EVER get cross with her - she wont like it.

Have you thought about asking the previous owner if there's something quirky he forgot to tell you?

If you've got a garage with power, then buy an Accumate (or similar) to keep the battery topped up
