Hi all,
I'm new to blogs and new to my cerbera 4.5S 99 plate with 59k on clock, which I purchased for just under 14k in June last year and has had the following remedial works done to it:
New master and slave cylinder and clutch plate - £600
Power steering rack rebuild 575
gearbox old unit purchase 250
delivery cost 40
rebuild charges 695
gear oil 15
replace alarm immobliser unit 499.95
reskim all brake disks 122
rebuild brake calipers 500
brake pads, fluid and flex pipes 320
labour charge stage 1 500
stage 2
induction kit 650
rear stainless exhaust 525
comp cat set 395
de cat pipes 120
comp manifold set 995
labour charge 1000
No more cash for the rest which needs:-
fettling labour £400 aprox
chassis £600
service £450 aprox
chip and map £400 aprox
Plug lead set £100 aprox
WHY WHY WHY DIDN'T I read your site first........
Can anyone recommend a good garage in Norwich area that won't pull my pants down like the rest?

Thanks for the replies guys.
The plan was to bring the cerbie up to its original best. The previous owner had mistreated it and needed some care and attention,which I called stage 1. Stage 2 was performance and Stage 3 was to make it a cerbie to match some of the crazy stuff you guys drive.
I know I'm not getting the best prices in town, but can anyone hook me up with a decent gararge in Norwich area?

It is always a tough call when you start spending big, you can keep convincing yourself that you must have done everything now and then something else still crops up. However the only real way to release the "value" of your spend is to do what you can to keep the car and then get the enjoyment from it that you always planned. Selling now will at best see you recoup your initial purchase price and likely see nothing of the £8k you have spent, in fact with chassis stuff still on the "to do" list you might even struggle to to achieve that IMO.
Get her fixed up proper and get out and have a blast in the summer.... oh, and start lying to your wife.

I know how you feel, mine cost me £10k in various repairs & upgrades last year.
It's having a service in a fortnight with its usual snag list of 300 items
, three services so far, all have been around the £1500 mark for one reason or another. Your 99 S plate, should realise £15k ish, but it depends how quick you want to sell. There's been some low milers on here recently that sold within hours, albeit at £11k
