Induction kit on a 4.2 ?
Discussion
hello chaps
having read mucho about these here beasts of ours i was always lead to believe that you couldnt fit an aftermarket induction kit on a 4.2 ? ... however looking at this car www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/72839.htm .. it clearly has ? ..
My plan is to decat the car, maybe fit an induction kit and upgrade to an ally rad, not really planning any other mods ....

RAM air will only work at really high speeds. Above 120mph. Also, your car would need to be mapped to take advantage of such and no rolling road has a wind machine capable of replicating such high speeds.
That kit will be about altering induction lengths and increasing flow by using better filtration (although I won't believe the latter can be better than standard until proven on the rollers).

Hi,
I fitted K&N cone filters to mine, looked good and a bit more induction roar but no performance increase. I also found that the car ran hotter during driving. I put this down to air being able to pass above the radiator, slightly higher pressure in the engine bay, causing less flow through the rad. When I reverted back to the origanal set up the temp gauge was noticeably lower approx 5-10 deg C. ACT can now get K&N panel filters to replace the original so I will be fitting one of them soon.
