Best way to dry out wet carpet

Had a "slight" downpour this evening ...

Checking under the mats revealed a very wet carpet :-(

What is the best way of drying it out in situ ?

find the hole first. likely to be near the pedals the door frame or the rubber plug in the floor under the seat. as for drying out, no idea but I guess if you can park it so the sun gets in and heats the car or perhaps go for a long drive with the heater on at the floor, but be prepared for some major misting. keep the air con on too since this acts as a dehumdifier.

Agree with fixing the problem first, it will just make drying out harder without doing it first. As for drying it's all about airflow, the best way is to drive it with the heater on full and the windows open slightly to allow the temp to get up but to also allow air exchange.

Use one of those dehumidifier packs that you can buy at a supermarket. On other postings users are talking about using a bag of silica gel.

Put the Air con on, that is a de-humidifier
