Had these in mine...

...until about 3 weeks ago - my garage recommended DENSO Iridium. So went with their suggestion and I have to say...the Cerb feels like a new car + some new Magnicors (thanks to Nitro sending them to me).

The Bosch were in good condition when I took them out, only had 4k on them so i guess they should've have been okay. However I would strongly recommend the Iridium, not sure if anyone else uses them, bloody expensive, but the spark seems strong, it is running super smooth, freezing cold it starts first pop, and loads of response, not missed a beat in 3 weeks. also no more smell of fuel and the flat spot at 2000rpm has vanished - but that could have been due to a few things? I really am not sure. However the plugs and leads must have helped some.

The Denso's are on offer at Opie oils at the moment...

Mind you at a tenner each that's an expensive change.

Aren't they supposed to last a lot longer though? They're standard on my wife's Toyota and they only need to be changed every 40k miles!!

Does it make much difference which make of plugs are used, Champion, Bosch, NGK etc? I had a Fiat Coupe that was very particular about which make of plug was used.

seems a small price for working out the flat spots, i'm thinking about the induction kits at the moment for the car as well. both together with remap should prove interesting.

thanks Kev and byker28i,
bought some of these badboys on both your recommendations and will let you next week when i pick up the car... spoke to Guy at opie oils for a while, little laymans for me and i thought what the heck, give them a go. you don't know until you try - watch this space. again withe induction i'm looking at they should assist.
Guy mentioned they're huge with the turbo world, and with the AJP should be some noticable improvement.

£41.84 inc delivery from usa ebay seller with high rating for a set of 8 denso iridium, thats £5.23 each, IK20 is the part number for the cerbera 4.2 according to densos application sheet, ordered mine! will have them fitted during the pending 12000 mile service on 23rd, although since this wont be the only thing changed, I probably wont be able to say definitively what improvement they alone will make!

I think I'll buy new coil packs and some uprated HT leads also, seeing as my service bills already going to be well over £2000, I might as well rule out any possible ignition issues.

How have you been getting on with the Denso plugs?

highly reccommended! Its hard for me to say how much of the difference is due to the plugs, because ive had new coil packs, new leads, new cams, 12k service, timing, throttle pots all sorted, but I know one thing, there's certainly nothing wrong with them! I may chuck the old ones back in for a spin so as to be able to give a proper objective opinion
