Hey guys, have had a word with Tim at ACT about the range of performance enhancing products they produce for the Cerbera. Tim mentioned that he had reduced the price of the stainless steal performance exhaust manifolds from £875 to £825 for single orders.

But here's where the group guy comes in. If we order multiple sets a further discount is available to ourselves.

Price was £825 - 2 sets price is £775!
Price was £825 - 3 sets and above price is £750!

2 sets with VAT added and postage, the total was £985.37 NOW £926.62!
3 sets and upwards with VAT and postage Was £985.37 NOW £897.25!

Will keep this group buy open for 10 days, then payment should be made to myself or Tim at ACT quoting Billys group buy!

I am interested but will wait to speak to Paul who is likely to be doing my engine rebuild first to see if it is the best use of my money performance wise.

They look bloody good though, does that price include the ceramic coating as well?

Has anyone got any experience of using these? Before and after Dyno runs?

Looks interesting, but with respect, it's not even a 10% discount...... (on the current single price)

Shame I have a set already made up/paid for and waiting to be fitted thumbup.
I spent a long time looking at this option as you say it is a fair wedge but every one fitted so far has picked up healthy Torque (no figures :handbags:hehe). I don't know if Paul is doing back to back runs with the standard manifolds on mine as its not a 5 minute job to swap them over but I will enquire and if there is enough interest I'll insist at Tim's expense for the RR time hehe.
I did fair bit of background reading into what I wanted for the car these are pretty much what I would have asked for from scratch, given the packaging issue if you want to maintain the original routing. The primary and secondary lengths are equal and matched pretty well and are good lengths thumbup following any 4 pot tuning rules there is no reason they should not add to the end result yes.

The question for me is which bit to do first, would there be a similar possibily of a group buy on a big bore exhaust? If there's a useful gain to be had, it's about half the price of the manifolds.

Dont think so.

Tim at ACT says "manifolds are equal length primary (as near as poss) with an equal secondary, so unlike the TVR originals they are a "tuned manifolds", they are also in 3 sections for easier fit.
Performance gains are mainly mid-range would expect at least 10 lb ft with a bit more peak bhp to."

Is there an option from ACT to have them ceramic coated?

Don't see why not, everything is possible, give him a ring to confirm.

Re the slow take up, I think its one of those items you wouldn't do unless you are chasing power or they need changing anyway as it is fair chunk on wonga to most of us mortals that work for our money. That said I think these are possibly cheaper than new TVR original replacements, so if they need changing, or if you've got a 4.2 with 4.5 internals and need to source 4.5 manifolds then its madness not to go for the improved design.

As I said earlier, I've already got a set to go on the car and will try to get some back to back figures with standard 4.5 manifolds in the next couple of weeks, not sure how that fits in with your ordering plans confused.

Some idea of performance gain would be great. I was thinking of the SP system to go with this as well Harry. Along with the induction/remap.

Be still my wincing wallet!

You could also go for a cheaper performance exhaust system then you would be half way to getting the manifolds too!!

I'd go with an ACT big bore system to match ACT manifolds - the two are designed to work together and while the SP system looks excellent, but it's a lot more pricey. Also, it may not be as good a match for the ACT manifolds, although obviously I don't know for definite.

Steve.

Point taken Steve, but the noise from the ACT system is more of an issue. Heard Tims car last year with it on, and it was very noisey in the cabin.

Haven't heard the SP one yet for myself, but from what I've read on here, I am expecting it to be the quieter one of the two.

Was that his big bore with only small mufflers near the back? if so I know he has a revision to that in that there are now some additional silencing in the intermediate area (middle of the car!!).
I'm currently in discussions with Tim trying to help further refine the system to get max power but keep it liveable ears
