Dash veneer replacement?

The dash is out and the veneer is cracked, it looks like the only way to remove the warning lights is to unsolder them, is this correct or am i missing something?

Yep thats correct, theres a little circuit board behind the frost and main beam light, make sure you note which way round you de solder them as they are LED's so require to go back the same way.

I made a dash 'cover' out of carbon fibre lookalike plastic. I took the dash top off and made a template from thin paper and cut the plastic to match. This way I didn't disconnect any lights or guages its just a tight fit round them. It looks better than the wood IMO

Its apart now and i will replacing with carbon fibre. I think it will match with the roof pillars and will be more durable than the flakey wood i hope.
