Noisy thrust bearing?

Had the car serviced last year and in the process had a new slave cylinder fitted.The release bearing was noisy as well and this was also changed.All was well and good,until one month later on the way to work one night,when one of the bolts retaining the slave cylinder snapped causing loss of clutch.Back down to indies where the gearbox came out and slave was bolted back in with new bolts and another thrust bearing fitted.After a week the noise from the thrust bearing returned,whilst back at the indie for some other work to be carried out i mentioned that the new thrust bearing was making noise,i was told that there wasnt much that could be done apart from pull the box out again as the bearing was self lubricating,and that over time the bearing could lubricate itself??.I wasnt to worried as over the years ive got a 101 LandRover with a noisy thrust bearing and ive used it at times to tow dead 8 ton CVRT,S around my mates yard with out any problems,and ive had the problem on that for eight years.Should i be worried with the Cerbera?.One thing to mention when stationary if i just ever so slightly rest my foot on top of the clutch pedal then the noise disappears.Could adjusting the pedal make any difference or just exagerate the problem further.Sorry for the long winded post but like to put all the details down.

I had ecactly the same thing, the cerb I bought was standing for several months. Just after its MOT the bearing started to whine, within a day it was getting hard to get into gear without crunching or blipping. Then after about 100miles or so it went altogether and took the clutch out with it. However, someone else advised that they had a noisy bearing too and it lasted 10,000 miles before decintegrating, I suppose you never know. Maybe, in my case the clutch (only 6000 or so miles old) was wrecked because of it or maybe it was because it was standing. Either way I ended up with a 1200 quid bill......
